Second tanda: The FIRST musicians.

The broad public acceptance of “El Entrerriano” and “Don Juan” (see the previous Talk A Tango column) rapidly triggered a new wave of tango compositions. At the dawn of the Twentieth Century, a vast number of new tangos were popularized thanks to the inspiration, intuition, and perseverance of a handful of musicians that spread the nascent musical genre all over Buenos Aires.
