“100 YEARS OF TANGUEDAD: A TANGO JOURNEY FROM STREET BANDS TO THE MUSIC HALL”

The seminar will consist of a power point presentation with music and short documentaries displaying the most representative tango orchestras, their signature styles and influence on the dance.
It will illustrate the background of the Buenos Aires of 1900, and will cover various aspects of tango history, from its roots in the native candombe afro and the milonga gaucha, to the influence of the immigrants, the first orchestras, the golden 1940s, to the renascence of 1990s.
This is your chance to experience Tango genesis and evolution and to translate the feeling and passion into your dancing.
In summary, all you wanted to know about tango but were afraid to ask.
